All the Methods for Getting New Roofing Jobs are Dead-We Killed Them
Knocking on doors. We’ve all done it. As a hail damage roofing salseman, nothing brought me more results. Unfortunately, in a growing number of places, it’s kind of illegal.
In addition, homeowners are warned almost daily to be very afraid of these roofing scam artists. How do you spot them? Easy-they’ll usually be a white male, age… 25 to 55, they’ll probably drive a truck of some sort with ladders and things like measuring tape and hammers.
Ah ha! Just like they said on the news! If he says, “we may be eligible to have our roof replaced from hail damage”, I’m calling the cops!
Unfortunately, the combination of an economy that has flatlined with record breaking storm activity, has meant that there are a lot of scam artists out there making it really difficult for an honest roofing company to get a fair shake. Of course, the local news always brings on the owner of whatever roofing company has been at the top of the Yellow Pages for fifteen years and surprise, surprise, his advice to homeowners: “you should only do business with a company that’s been around for fifteen years, like us!”
Well, if only we could all be so fortunate. I wonder if he would have felt the same way fourteen years ago.
The good news is- the changes taking place right now in social media, and technology in general, are going to completely level the playing field in all industries. Those individuals and companies who adapt and incorporate these changes successfully are going to totally dominate their markets and will only solidify their position as time moves on.
I hate to break it to you, with the exception of “Roof Pal Chris”, and a handful of others, most of the so called experts out there are totally clueless.
For the most part, regardless of where you are, your market is completely wide open. There hasn’t been an opportunity like this since we ditched horses and buggies. The few individuals who can see whats coming and take action, will be the Rockefellers and J.P. Morgans of tommorow.
